Chair Prototype #1

For the final year of my bachelor’s degree, my thesis was an investigation into the union of furniture and philosophy; how longevity of material, beauty of form, and ergonomic comfortability could harness the ideal to achieve perfection. The main characteristic of this chair are the legs and spindles are one piece as thru-tapered mortise and tenon joints. As the chair is used the joints tighten in the mortise making it stronger over time. Every piece in the chair is essential to its strength.
