Whale Tail Chairs
Based on a whale’s tail, this chair was the culmination of a year’s worth of design, research, fabricating and upholstery. For a construction company in the Mississauga area, the pair of chairs were meant to inhabit their front entrance. Steam bent solid walnut, hand cut and machined joinery to fit the back support. We crafted the inner structure, with guidance from our upholstery friends at Bespoke Original Designs in Etobicoke, to allow the base to be wrapped, while leaving room for the backrest to be attached afterwards.
